Soul is one of those English words that are hard to translate. None of the translations of it in Catalan really please me because they fall short. For me soul is that intimate lived experience of different emotions that come and go over the course of a life”.
Dolors Peregrina.
Fotoclub Terrassa presents the work Dancing Souls or The Lightness of Life, by Dolors Peregrina. Her project speaks of life as a parenthesis, a journey between two extremes (birth and death) of loneliness, a trajectory in which each human being vibrates with different tones, rhythms and melodies.
Peregrina also wants to recognise in this exhibition the inspiration of a whole generation of Catalan photographers of the 40s, 50s and 60s who honoured one of the best-known sayings of Henri Cartier-Bresson, “You just have to live and life will give you pictures”.
Dolors Peregrina
Dolors Peregrina has a degree in psychology and is an amateur photographer. Since the eighties she has learned with different photographers and is currently studying a postgraduate course in documentary photography at the Institut d’Estudis Fotogràfics de Catalunya (IEFC). Her images have been displayed in Terrassa and Igualada.
