Album, festival of image and contemporary photography
Album, Terrassa’s contemporary image and photography festival is an eclectic and plural cultural event that presents projects that embrace different genres and formats of contemporary photography and images.
Organized by Cultural Promotion and Diffusion Service of the Terrassa City Council, Album wants to become a reference for national contemporary photographic creation and a springboard for artists with risky and critical projects.
Album establishes dialogues between historical and emblematic spaces of the city and the artistic proposals programmed. This hybridization allows the city’s heritage to be enhanced, while establishing new readings of the selected projects.
The festival not only supports the work of young creators, but also creates spaces for the development of the artistic careers of medium and long-term professionals.
From Latin albus, white
The name of the festival has its origins in a play on words. Album, in Latin albus, “white”, tells us about light: the primal material of all the creators of the festival. But it also refers us to the concept of an album as a selection that we must preserve, in this case the artists with new and risky proposals.
Album 2024 will take place between May 4 and June 2, in different spaces in the city of Terrassa (Barcelona, Spain).
