Eugenio Trías is one of the most renowned philosophers in the Spanish language of the second half of the 20th century and early 21st century. On numerous occasions he has indicated that the fulcrum of his philosophy is in the idea of the límit, which separates and at the same time unites different and heterogeneous things.

The Image section of the Laboratori Creatiu d’Amics de les Arts i Joventuts Musicals has organised, in the framework of the schedule of exhibitions in the Galeria Sala d’Art La Cúpula of the entity, exhibit proposals on visual arts. These proposals are contributions both of author work and projects created by the section itself.
After more than five seasons of creating and welcoming projects in this hall, the heads of the section (led by the Grup Literari d’Amics de les Arts i Joventuts Musicals) want to consider the important bibliography that we currently have on questions relating to visual arts and contemporary photographic practices (critical and theoretical), literature that only a few decades ago we did not have
Texts that are now classics, by Barthes, Sontag, Dubois, Berger and Krauss are essential in the present culture of plastic photography (which is not what the photographers of creative photography and documentary photography do).
La confusión de los géneros en fotografia, published by Gustavo Gili in 2004, is on this occasion our guide in a project that offers a reflection on the idea of the límit in artistic genres and welcomes the proposals made by the creators who work in this bordering space of plastic art and photographic practice (this cataloguing being considered necessary). El Límit, the project that we present in the framework of the Terrassa Photography Festival d 2023, drinks in these ideas.
The works of Pep Busquet and Samuel Garrofé are examples of artistic hybridisation which, under the banner of this exhibition, El Límit, offers us individual projects that we can consider to have been created in this bordering space of photography and plastic art.
Pep Busquet, an artist trained in the precepts of Central European plastic art, has progressively considered photographic questions.
Samuel Garrofé, who comes directly from creative photography, has formulated in his work tribal questions of plastic photograph and contemporary engraving.
We want this initiative to have continuity and to be profitable in agreeing texts that give guidance, considering that contemporary art, as well as the practice of creation as such, includes fields such as criticism, the theory and their literature.
