Fotoclub Terrassa is a non-profit organization, created in 1980. Its origins, however, go back to the 30s, when the Photographic Group of Terrassa was constituted, which later became the Photographic and Amateur Cinema Group of the Casino del Comerç.

Some members of the Photographic and Amateur Cinema Group of the Casino del Comerç, including Josep Maria Albero, Jordi Vilaseca, Florià Serra and Jaume Cabús, raised the need to renew the entity, to look for new spaces and new activities. In 1980, coinciding with the opening of the Cultural Center Caixa de Terrassa (now La Factoria Cultural de Terrassa) the Fotoclub Terrassa was established. A year later he began his activities, including conferences, courses, excursions, exhibitions and the recovery of the historical memory of his photographers.

Throughout its history, Fotoclub Terrassa has maintained contact with different artistic currents such as the Afal group of Almería and has obtained national and international recognition with the prize of the Fotoegara photography contest.

Today Fotoclub Terrassa still teaches courses, workshops, photographic talks, and the Photo Ègara photography contest. It also manages the Espai Fotoclub Room of La Factoria Cultural de Terrassa, where periodic exhibitions of its members are held.
